31bitsPhotobucketPhotobucketPhotobucketPhotobucketPhotobucketPhotobucketPhotobucketPhotobucketPhotobucket This weekend my dear friend Rose and I hosted a 31Bits house party. If you're not familiar (and I can only recommend familiarizing yourself asap), 31Bits is an incredible organization that works with women in Uganda to create the most beautiful jewelry. The women receive an education, healthcare, and serious skillz. I've loved their jewelry (and mission!) for a while now, so when I learned about their house parties (they send a ton o' jewelry your way and you throw a party and sell it), it seemed like a no-brainer. Needless to say, said party caused the sister and I to get our act together and clean clean clean the house and put up some Christmas decorations! yayyy on all accounts! Tears were narrowly avoided when just before the party started, the chalkboard I'd just hung came crashing down (hitting my caffeinated beverage on the way down). Chai everywhere. And chalkboard lettering allllmost ruined. But alas, I survived, and the party was just lovely. Lots of friends, lots of yummy treats, and lots of gorgeous jewelry! Summary: I love 31bits, I love the holidays and I LOVE OUR NEW HOUSE. [If you're looking for a meaningful--yet still super trendy-- gift for a lady, look no further. 31bits.com]
